This paper presents an overview of multimedia tools and
technologies for education in computer science, which is created to
provide brief information to the developers of the tools on possible
future directions in the area. The overview includes: A classification of
tools, based on a degree of their interactivity and on a domain of their
usage, and a classification of technologies, based on a degree of their
mobility and on their architecture. All of the analyzed tools are briefly
described using the same presentation pattern for paragraphs that describe
them. Finally, an evaluation of the results is presented along with
discussion on possible future directions for development in the area.
